Provenance

Fragments were both used as binding for archival registers. In the case of fol. [3]-[4], the bifolium was used for 'Registers and Protocols' related to the town court of Rupelmonde for the years 1590-1593, according to a provenance note on fol. [3]r.

Readers' annotations

Fol. [2]v has an early modern pen drawing of a woman wearing a ruff in its margin.

Provenance

Fol. [1]-[2] was presumedly also used as a binding register related to laws and regulations; fol. [1]r has the note 'Den Pegels van Broode' ('the allowed sizes of bread').

Chants seem to be mostly responsories (see, for example, fol. [1]r, col. a: Deus Israel propter te sustinui improperium, Cantus ID 006425) and antiphonals (e.g. fol. [3]r, col.b: Afferte domino filii dei adorate, Cantus ID 001303). These are interspersed with prayers (e.g. fol. [1]r, col. b: "reminiscere miserationu tuaru dns et famulos tuos eterna prectione scifica", from Sacramentarium Gelasianum) and readings from the Bible (e.g. fol. [1]v, col. b: from Ier. 7:11 onwards, "Ego, ego sum: ego vidi, dicit dns").
